- The house was built in 1742 for a wealthy merchant family.
- It was later used as a hospital during the First World War.
- We'll begin in the entrance hall, which still has its original floor.
- From there, we'll go up the main staircase to the library.
- The library contains over 4,000 books, some of them very rare.
- After the house, you're free to explore the gardens on your own.
- The walled garden is to the east, beyond the old stables.
- Please stay on the paths, as the lawns are being restored.
- The lake is a 10 minute walk from the house, past the orchard.
